With Mother’s Day now just around the corner, (Sunday 22nd March for those of you who still have yet to mark your calendars!) we’re sure there are at least a few among you who’s plans for the big day could still use a helpful nudge in the right direction.
Fortunately for you, Midtown just so happens to be full of first-class luxury experiences, monolithic flagship fashion stores, and smaller boutique establishments with their own charming niches.
And might we add that with this much of the city’s best at your fingertips, there’s no reason to limit your stay in this part of Midtown to just a single day if you don’t have to!
Afternoon tea at The Savoy
Looking for an excuse to get dressed to the nines? Or perhaps to spoil your mother with the finer things in life? If so, then might we recommend the quintessentially British choice – afternoon tea. This culinary experience is familiar fare for those fortunate enough to frequent London’s luxury hotels.
The Savoy’s take on the tradition includes a sumptuous selection of finger sandwiches, tartlets and madeleines to name just a few. All of this is set against the beautiful backdrop of their Thames Foyer and complemented by subtle piano music, providing the perfect backdrop for enjoying those precious moments of bonding and banter.
The Terrace on Piccadilly
Comfortably situated in the heart of Piccadilly, The Terrace is a secluded brasserie that boasts stunning views over the West End. Inside, you’ll find a menu of tried and true global cuisine, helped along by a uniquely modern spin that livens up proceedings.
Naturally, no visit to The Terrace is complete without taking some time to appreciate the marvelous glass roof draped over the brasserie. As you might expect, the brighter evenings we’ve been enjoying as of late work wonders for the scenery. There’s a picturesque quality to the dining experience that would be impossible to replicate any other way.
If you elect to spend Mother’s Day here, we could hardly fault you for memorialising the occasion with a photograph or two!
